I felt listened to... What I valued most was how seriously my experience was taken. Dr Cappai didn’t rush to prescribe or simplify things. She explained possible contributing factors clearly and respectfully. It felt like a thoughtful conversation rather than a transaction.
I liked that other possible explanations were explored before confirming ADHD. It made the diagnosis feel credible and not superficial. Dr Cappai was balanced in discussing medication, outlining both benefits and potential downsides. I felt fully involved in the decision-making process. She also considered how symptoms might overlap with anxiety and past experiences, rather than attributing everything too quickly to one diagnosis. This made the whole process feel careful and well thought through. What stood out was how clearly options were explained, including non-medication strategies and practical adjustments. I didn’t feel pressured at any point and instead felt supported to make an informed choice that suited me. Since the appointment, I feel like I have a much better understanding of how my brain works and what I can realistically do to manage things moving forward.
The appointment was thorough and intellectually rigorous, which I appreciated. Dr Cappai clearly knows her field and didn’t jump to conclusions. At the same time, she was approachable and open to questions. I felt respected throughout. She took time to explore different aspects of attention, executive functioning, and behaviour in a structured but flexible way. It didn’t feel like a checklist exercise—it felt like a proper clinical formulation. I particularly valued how she explained his reasoning as we went along, which made the process transparent and easier to trust. There was also space to discuss how ADHD traits overlap with things like anxiety and coping strategies developed over time, which made the assessment feel more nuanced. Overall, it felt both academically solid and personally engaging.
I’ve been through low periods before, but this was the first time I felt properly understood. Dr Cappai approached the assessment with steady compassion. Even when discussing risk, her manner remained calm and reassuring. I felt safe being honest.
It felt like a genuinely comprehensive evaluation rather than a tick-box exercise!!!! Dr Cappai explored strengths as well as difficulties, which I hadn’t expected. The overall experience was thoughtful and balanced. I’m glad I finally took the step.
We’re glad you found the evaluation thorough and balanced. It’s rewarding to hear that exploring both strengths and challenges made the experience meaningful for you.
I appreciated the professional tone of the consultation..... Dr Cappai is clearly experienced and methodical in how she approaches ADHD assessments. At the same time, she was patient when I struggled to articulate certain things. I left feeling validated <3
We’re pleased you felt heard and supported, and that the consultation balanced professionalism with patience.
I went in feeling frustrated with myself and came out with much more self-understanding. Dr Cappai didn’t minimise the impact ADHD has had on my life. She acknowledged it thoughtfully and helped me see practical next steps.
We helped you gain more self-understanding and see practical next steps without minimising the impact of ADHD.
I had put off getting assessed for ADHD for years because I was worried I wouldn’t be taken seriously. Dr Cappai immediately came across as calm, measured and genuinely interested in understanding my history properly. She asked detailed questions about childhood, work and relationships, and nothing felt rushed. By the end, I felt relief more than anything — relief that someone had really listened and explained things clearly.
So glad you had that experience. Feeling genuinely heard and understood makes such a huge difference, especially with something like ADHD.
My experience at Diverse Minds Clinic has been exceptionally good. I was impressed from my very first contact by the professionalism of the administrative team. Dr Cappai in person offered to call me to clarify some of my doubts and I feel we clicked immediately. I received an ADHD assessment and have had ongoing support for my anxiety. I am so grateful I found this service and that finally I am receiving meaningful guidance on how to improve my mental health.
That’s wonderful to hear. It sounds like you felt supported every step of the way, and having both clarity and ongoing guidance can make such a meaningful difference.
I have seen Dr Cappai at Diverse Minds Clinic for a review of my ADHD medications (I already had a diagnosis). She also works in the NHS and has a lot of experience with this. My journey was not easy due to side effects and other health issues, but I completely trust that Dr Cappai will help me to find my balance and a treatment that works well for me.
Really glad you’ve found someone you trust, that kind of support makes a big difference, especially when the journey hasn’t been straightforward.

“Men don’t talk”, and it’s costing lives! Dr Alex Cappai, founder of Diverse Minds Clinic, shares an important perspective on why men are less likely to seek support and often present at a crisis point. Lower referral rates, delayed help-seeking, and increased risk of suicide highlight a serious and ongoing concern. Creating space for open conversation is essential. Strength lies in recognising when support is needed and taking action. www.diversemindsclinic.co.uk #MensMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #DiverseMinds #SpeakUp #endthestigma

Seen but never understood 🧠✨ Many adults have spent years adapting, masking, and questioning why life feels just a little harder than it should. Autism doesn’t always look the way people expect, especially in those who were never diagnosed. From sensory sensitivities to social fatigue, the signs can be subtle yet deeply impact. Understanding the “silent spectrum” means recognising these hidden experiences, validating them, and creating space for late discovery, self-acceptance, and support. Because it’s never too late to understand yourself better 💙 Read more and start your journey of awareness today 🌿 #AutismAwareness #Neurodiversity #MentalHealthMatters #AdultAutism #SelfDiscovery #diversemindsclinic #HiddenStruggles #Awareness
