I have had cataract surgery on both eyes now and Oliver was quite simply first-rate in all respects from start to finish. His manner and professionalism very quickly put me at ease and I felt able to make informed choices when considering the options for lenses. The results have exceeded my expectations.

Mr Ho performed an operation for a partially detached retina in my left eye and a retinopexy in my right eye. He carefully explained all of the options available to me, along with the associated risks and what to expect post op. I was very nervous about having an eye operation but he provided reassurance and took time to answer all of my questions, both before my procedures and at each of my follow up appointments. I’m also grateful that Mr Ho has been available when I have needed an appointment at short notice. I would highly recommend Mr Ho.

Easy going

Calm, reassuring manner. Took the trouble to explain and also to review the previous operation. He made the whole process simple and as easy as iIt could be.

There is no one else I would trust to cut into my eyeballs ;) In all seriousness, Dr Ionides is a terrific ophthalmic surgeon. He always reviews my eye measurements carefully, explains things fully and does so in a very calm manner. It's always a pleasure to see him and the service I recieve from him and his team is second to none. Keep up the great work!

Mr Sid Goel gave excellent care throughout seeing him, he has excellent bed side manner also, and explains the facts, procedures, pro's and con's when you see him.

Mr. Horgan is never in a hurry. You are treated as a person and not an anonymous patient. He is exceptionally kind and personable and he quickly found a solution for my cataract surgery, for which the NHS had rejected me due to postural issues. From my first meeting, all my concerns were waylaid by his careful explanation of what to expect. I simply had no questions to ask him at any stage, as he’s worked for decades on cataracts and he and his team have also fine tuned the post operative procedures. It was a joy to be able to shower, bend over, resume life normally within 24-48 hours of having the procedure. Now, three weeks after the last operation I can see perfectly. In addition I have the Premium lenses which are not available on the NHS, but which mean I no longer need reading or distance glasses. I was not insured, but the overall price was manageable, given the offsetting of the costs of many pairs of new glasses. Mr Horgan calls you two days after your surgery. Then you have a follow up appointment three weeks later. The team at the Battersea Eye clinic are very professional and you are immediately given tea and sandwiches as soon as you’re ready for them after the procedure. In a strange way I shall miss being so cosseted! Full marks to everyone and I highly recommend the team.
