Day case for Cardio Version following an event that triggered Atrial Fibrillation. From start to finish the staff at The Wellington Hospital could not do enough for both myself and my wife. I would like to pass on m y thanks to the Felicity , the nurse that took care of me from check in to discharge. And many thanks to my consultant Dr Sohaib for a successful outcome.

HCA ancillary staff were excellent and friendly, putting me at ease. The one exception is that despite being fully covered by private medical insurance (incl pre-authorisation codes and competing multiple online forms and confirming details) the HCA administrative/ reception staff on arrival were overly focused on (and their primary priority is to) obtain credit card details and associated authorisation for extra procedures and tests which go beyond the scope of the referral and pre-authorisation in case suggested. The requested authorisation is open-ended and requested at a point when patients are vulnerable. The HCA admin staff were unable to explain why authorisation was required in my circumstances with full insurance coverage - all they could manage was a weak “it’s just our process”.
