I was treated with kindness and patience from everyone that works here - from the HCA’s to the maintenance team, admin, doctors/nurses. The physical medical assessment was thorough and the ward doctor ordered further blood tests, so I felt my physical health was important and also treated well. I found there was excellent and consistent communication between the ward teams and the therapists which was incredibly helpful as it meant I wasn’t having to describe multiple times when I found things difficult. I felt I was listened to and my decisions were respected.

Check in staff need educating where is best for visitors to check in and also in knowing what the likely delays are in being able to have a test done and to see one's consultant.

Receptionists can sometimes be a little brusque, but otherwise very good overall.

The therapy has been amazing. I have felt as though I was always learning something new.

Entering the lady at reception says straight down the corridor to room 6. Door at the end of the corridor says waiting room 3 so I go back and ask and she says yes. Going in, room 6 says do not disturb. But I’m wondering if it’s been left like that by accident. There’s the sound of wind playing but no sign explaining why so I spend a few minutes trying to figure out if it’s wind or a speaker. This could be handled by explaining clearly where to go and what will happen - particularly important to people who are neurodivergent, which is why I’m here. I’m anxious enough without extra cognitive load. She could say “Straight down the corridor into waiting room 3, the doctor is in room 6. If it shows do not disturb then wait and he’ll be with you shortly. There’s a speaker playing wind sounds to try to put you at ease.”
