The Priory Hospital was good

From initial phone call to seeing my therapist took about a week, which is so quick. The wellbeing centre is easy to get to. All staff there are welcoming. My therapist is great, introduced themselves told me their background and what the plan of action was. Then listened, asked questions to get the full picture of My PTSD. They explained what PTSD was and how it manifests in terms I understood. We planned further sessions. Every session was calm, well planned and I felt listened to and understood. I had homework to do which I completed as I want to improve. Everything that my therapist has shown and discussed with me makes sense. I fully understand that my therapist gives me the tools to help myself. It is up to me to put everything I have been shown and given in place to make it work, which I am doing. I cannot thank my therapist enough as I feel better and have an understanding of what has been happening and how to deal with it, and I have the tools to help me with things in the future too. I will miss my sessions and my therapist and thank you for everything you have taught me. Take care all, thank you so much again.

Priory's organisation seemed to be very good. The initial screening call seemed abrupt at the time and very clinical, but the staff member seemed knowledgeable and matched me with a great clinician. I had Kira as my clinician - from the very first session she created a very safe, welcoming space, explained very clearly the path forward we would take and maintained very clear communication throughout all my sessions. I had never tried or even heard of EMDR and she explained it in a way that was very easy to understand and also the reason behind each of the steps and actions. She was very kind, knowledgeable and I felt that the priority was my health above all.

I got what I paid for.

I have so much gratitude to every councillor, consultant, therapist, doctor, nurse, every ward staff member, catering, maintenance, the cleaning staff and receptionist. My experience of the Wilmslow Hospital before, during and after my ear surgery has been excellent. The information I received about my pre-operative assessment and what to expect on the day of surgery was extremely useful and helped me to feel at ease. On the day of my operation, everything ran smoothly and efficiently. All the people involved in my care were friendly and attentive and they couldn't have done more to ensure I was well looked after. The facilities and cleanliness were exceptional and I was made to feel very comfortable during the time I was there. I would definitely recommend this hospital to others.
