Dr. Richard Armstrong

Dr. Richard Armstrong is a consultant interventional and general cardiologist with a focus on complex interventional cardiology, intravascular imaging, and intravascular physiology. His special interests include intervention techniques such as intravascular imaging, calcium modification, rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy, and bifurcation PCI.

Dr. Armstrong earned his undergraduate medical degree from Trinity College Dublin and completed his specialist cardiology training in Ireland. He holds an MD awarded through Trinity College Dublin, focusing on cardiac autonomic function. Throughout his career, Dr. Armstrong has conducted extensive research in cardiac revascularisation and cardiac autonomic function, resulting in the publication of peer-reviewed articles in interventional medical journals.

After completing one year as a research fellow at St James Hospital, Dr. Armstrong pursued further training in interventional cardiology, spending one year at St James Hospital Dublin and another year at the Royals Hospital Belfast. His comprehensive training and research background have equipped him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of cardiology, allowing him to provide exceptional care to his patients.
