About Dr Zain Sharif
Dr Zain Sharif is a consultant cardiologist with a particular interest in cardiac electrophysiology. He obtained his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and completed his basic medical training at the Mater Hospital. He then pursued higher specialist training in cardiology domestically before enhancing his expertise by undertaking a two-year subspecialty fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School's largest affiliated hospital.
Accredited in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiac implantable electronic devices by the European Heart Rhythm Association, Dr Sharif is a respected speaker for organisations such as the Irish Heart Foundation, the Irish Cardiac Society, and the American College of Cardiology. His research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including Circulation EP, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Heart Rhythm, and he frequently presents his work and chairs sessions at national and international conferences, including meetings of the ESC and the Heart Rhythm Society in the US.
As well as working privately at Blackrock Health, Dr Sharif holds a busy public post at Beaumont Hospital whilst aslo performing cases at the Mater Hospital. He holds an honory senior lecture post with the RCSI. He is actively involed in education, proctorship and service development in developing nations.
