Mr Gavin Smith

Mr Gavin Smith is a dedicated and knowledgeable physiotherapist at PMC Physiotherapy Dunboyne, holding a BSc in Physiotherapy and a BSc in Health and Performance Science. His dual academic background provides him with a deep understanding of biomechanics, exercise physiology, and strength and conditioning, allowing him to design evidence-based rehabilitation and performance programmes tailored to each client’s needs.

Gavin specialises in injury prevention, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and injury rehabilitation. He works with clients of all ages and abilities, with a particular passion for educating and developing youth athletes, helping them build strength, confidence, and control through progressive training plans that optimise performance and reduce injury risk.

He has worked with a range of elite athletes across disciplines such as showjumping, GAA, soccer, American football, and badminton. In the 2024/2025 season, Gavin serves as physiotherapist and performance coach for the Kildare Ladies Minor Football team, and as a locum physiotherapist for several GAA teams, including St. Peter’s GAA Club Dunboyne, where he has developed youth strength and conditioning programmes.

Outside of physiotherapy, Gavin is a passionate sportsman and lifelong equestrian, having competed nationally in showjumping and continuing to ride and train regularly.
