Prof. Dr. Tamer Said

Prof Dr Tamer Said is a leading Consultant Bariatric, Metabolic and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Saudi German Hospital Dubai. He has over 15 years of clinical experience and qualified in medicine at Ain Shams University, Egypt in 2005. He subsequently completed a Master's Degree in General Surgery at the same university in 2009 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, UK in 2011. He also completed a MD in General Surgery at Ain Shams University in 2012.

Prior to his current positions, Dr Said was a Senior Consultant of Bariatric, Metabolic and Laparoscopic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in Egypt and the Air Force Specialised Hospital in the Fifth Settlement.

His current clinical practice involves the treatment of obesity and its comorbidities, in particular diabetes, using a range of surgical procedures. He has expertise in all areas of bariatric and metabolic surgery, including: sleeve gastrectomy, mini gastric bypass, metabolic surgery for type 2 diabetes, laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair and revision surgery. He also has expertise in thyroid surgery, including total thyroidectomy and block neck dissection.

Dr Said is also a Professor of General Surgery at Ain Shams University and holds professional memberships with the American Society of Surgeons, the International Federation of Obesity and Diabetes Surgeries and the Egyptian Society of Obesity and Diabetes Surgery.
