Dr. Hamid Yousuf

Dr. Hamid Yousuf is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with over a decade of expertise in the field.

Dr. Hamid completed his advanced training in Gastroenterology in Ireland and furthered his specialisation with a fellowship in advanced Endoscopy at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, UK. Before joining Zulekha Hospital in Sharjah, he served as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Intervention Endoscopist at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in the UK.

He has extensive experience in managing functional Gastroenterology disorders ( Irritable bowel, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, constipation, bloating etc) including Hepatology ( fatty liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, hepatitis B and C infections, liver issues in pregnancy ) and pancreaticobiliary problems ( Pancreatitis, Gall bladder and bile duct stones etc). He is proficient in a wide range of endoscopic procedures. These include gastroscopy, colonoscopy, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, ERCP (including cannulation, sphincterotomy, brushings, and stenting), oesophagal stenting, stricture dilatation, Esophageal Botox injection, and variceal banding. He also manages upper GI bleeding with injection therapy, clipping, and diathermy, and is skilled in NJ tube and PEG insertion, as well as colonic polypectomy, EMR, and colon stent insertion.
