Dr Donatella Casiglia

Dr Donatella Casiglia is an Italian Board-Certified Specialist in Endocrinology and Diabetology at Clemenceau Medical Center. She has over 26 years of expertise in managing complex cases of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, hypothyroidism, parathyroid disease, obesity, pituitary, and adrenal disorders.

Her extensive career spans across reputable healthcare institutions in the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and Italy. Dr Casiglia earned her Medical Degree from the University of Palermo, Italy, and secured Italian Board Certification in Endocrinology and Diabetes in 1996. Initially practicing in Milan until 2004, specializing in diabetes and endocrinology, she later served as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Head of Department at Orpington Hospital in the UK until 2013. During her time there, she championed integrated and patient-centered care, focusing on the management of type 1 diabetes and leading the antenatal multidisciplinary team.

Between 2013 and 2018, Dr Casiglia contributed her expertise to Dubai as a specialist in Diabetes and Endocrinology, actively participating as a member of the multidisciplinary thyroid cancer group.
