Dr Chris Butcher

Orthopaedic and knee surgeon Dr Chris earned his medical degree from University College London in 1989. His higher surgical and orthopaedic training, which included fellowships in knee surgery and lower limb reconstruction, was completed at the Universities of London, Bristol, and Cape Town. In addition to serving as an NHS consultant in Gloucester and Cheltenham for almost ten years, he has been listed as a specialist by the UK GMC since 2004.

He earned his Master of Surgery degree in Bristol, has co-edited the current textbook "Surgery of the Knee," and has written book chapters and journal papers on knee surgery.

He does meniscal surgery, ligament restoration, osteotomies, and knee replacements for degenerative disorders, sports injuries, and deformities. Dr Chris offers an honest opinion and recommends non-invasive procedures wherever appropriate.
