Dr Ashok Bohra

Dr Ashok Bohra is a highly experienced General Surgeon. Dr Bohra has a special interest in Upper GI Surgery, including advanced laparoscopic procedures for benign and malignant conditions, and Bariatric Surgery.

Dr Bohra previously held the position of Lead for Upper GI Cancer Services at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. Dr Bohra has also contributed to the development of healthcare standards as a PEER reviewer for UK National Upper GI Cancer services. Additionally, Dr Bohra has been extensively involved with NICE, aiding in drafting, approving, and publishing 23 NICE Quality Standards Guidelines.

Dr Bohra has been actively involved in education and research throughout their career. They have held academic positions at prestigious institutions, including Honorary Assistant Professor in Surgery. Dr Bohra has also served as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons and has shared their expertise by teaching surgical trainees at all levels. Their contributions to the field are further evidenced by their publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals, as well as presentations at national and international forums, for which they have received awards.
