Dr Yukio Christopher Akune

Dr Yukio Akune is a dedicated General Practitioner who provides holistic, comprehensive healthcare to patients of all ages. He is committed to working closely with his patients to explain their conditions clearly and develop individualised management plans in collaboration with them. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he ensures that every individual receives the highest standard of care tailored to their unique health needs.

Dr Akune obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Western Australia in 2013. Following his graduation, he gained extensive clinical experience working across numerous hospitals in Western Australia, gaining valuable skills in medical, surgical, and emergency medicine. He subsequently completed his specialist general practice training, achieving Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Throughout his career, Dr Akune has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. He is highly skilled in chronic disease management, with a particular focus on diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and high blood pressure. Additionally, he provides comprehensive services in men's health, paediatric care, childhood vaccinations, and travel medicine. Dr Akune is also experienced in skin cancer medicine, offering thorough skin checks and lesion removals, as well as sexual health, LGBT health, and PrEP prescribing. He is competent in non-directive pregnancy counselling and can assist patients with management options for unplanned pregnancies.
