Mr Yee Chan

Mr Yee Chan is a highly regarded Consultant Urologist based in East Melbourne, Victoria. With a strong commitment to delivering patient-centred care, Mr Chan specialises in advanced minimally invasive keyhole surgeries, including robotic and laparoscopic procedures. His clinical focus encompasses uro-oncology, the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia, and the treatment of stone disease. Throughout his clinical career, Mr Chan has played a pivotal role in establishing and advancing minimally invasive keyhole surgery within the field of urology. He was among the first Urologists in Melbourne to perform laparoscopic radical prostatectomies, nephrectomies, and partial nephrectomies, later transitioning these complex reconstructive procedures to robotic-assisted techniques. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as a mentor and proctor, training younger Urologists, Urology Registrars, and international Fellows in laparoscopic and robotic surgical methods.

Mr Chan completed his medical education at the University of Melbourne, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He undertook his specialist surgical and urological training in Australia, qualifying as a specialist Urologist in 1999. Following this, he completed a twelve-month fellowship at a prominent urological centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the United Kingdom, where he gained further specialised expertise. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
