Dr Ye Myat Ko

Dr Ye Myat Ko is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care with a strong focus on patient-centred outcomes. He is deeply committed to the prevention and early intervention of chronic medical conditions, believing that proactive healthcare plays a vital role in enhancing long-term wellbeing. With a reassuring and professional approach, Dr Ko works closely with his patients to develop personalised health strategies that support their individual needs and promote a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to general family medicine, Dr Ko has a strong interest in occupational health and workplace medicine. He is highly skilled in conducting pre-employment health assessments, disability medical assessments, and health surveillance programmes. His clinical focus also extends to skin cancer checks and the management of workplace injuries, helping patients safely return to their professional duties. Dr Ko is actively working towards becoming an Occupational Medicine Physician, further expanding his expertise in this specialised field.

Dr Ko commenced his medical studies in Yangon, Myanmar, before relocating to Australia in 2010 to pursue postgraduate education. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a Master of Health Information Management (MHIM), and a Diploma in Child Health (DCH). He achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2019 and is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (FASLM). Additionally, he is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine (ANZSOM).

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Ko is a passionate advocate for medical education and the continuous improvement of healthcare standards. He actively engages in mentoring and supporting fellow General Practitioners on their pathways to achieving fellowship. He also serves as a Clinical Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, contributing his expertise to the training and assessment of the next generation of medical professionals.
