Dr Xuan Ye is an orthopaedic upper limb surgeon in Sydney
specialising in shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery for adults, adolescents
and children. His practice is dedicated to conditions and injuries of the upper
limb, with particular expertise in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery,
joint replacement, reconstructive surgery, peripheral nerve surgery,
microsurgery and complex upper limb trauma.
Dr Ye graduated from the University of New South Wales with
First Class Honours and was awarded the John Coleman Prize for Surgery and the
Max Thorpe Prize for Best Overall Performance in Medicine.
As part of his specialist orthopaedic training, Dr Ye
completed a six-month clinical term in paediatric orthopaedics at Shriners
Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. During this appointment, he gained
extensive clinical experience in paediatric orthopaedic care and developed a
particular interest in adolescent and paediatric shoulder, elbow, wrist and
hand conditions.
Dr Ye completed specialist orthopaedic training and became a
Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian
Orthopaedic Association in 2020. He subsequently completed four subspecialty
fellowships in:
• Hand, wrist and microsurgery
• Shoulder and elbow surgery
• Adult upper limb surgery and trauma
• Paediatric upper limb surgery
These fellowships provided advanced subspecialty training
across the full spectrum of shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery in adults
and children.
Dr Ye also completed the Australian Hand Surgery Society
Post-Fellowship Education and Training Program in Hand Surgery. He is a full
member of the Australian Hand Surgery Society and a member of the Australian
Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.
In 2025, Dr Ye was awarded the Australian Hand Surgery
Society Travelling Fellowship. Through this fellowship, he visited leading
international surgeons and centres in Switzerland, France and Spain, focusing
on advanced hand and wrist surgery, wrist arthroscopy, reconstructive surgery
and joint replacement.
Dr Ye holds public hospital appointments at Prince of Wales
Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Sydney Hospital Hand Unit. He is
also a faculty member of the Prince of Wales Upper Limb Fellowship and
contributes to the subspecialty training of orthopaedic fellows.
Dr Ye consults in Randwick and Strathfield, providing
specialist upper limb care across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and Inner West.
