Dr Wui Choong

Dr Wui Choong is a compassionate and highly skilled General Practitioner who is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care. He believes in fostering strong, trusting relationships with his patients to support their long-term well-being. Dr Choong has a diverse clinical focus, with particular expertise in sexual health, men's health, and HIV medicine. In addition to his general practice work, he is an experienced Cosmetic Physician who offers specialised aesthetic treatments.

Before focusing on community medicine, Dr Choong built a robust clinical foundation by training in various medical disciplines, including psychiatry and intensive care, at major tertiary hospitals. He has worked extensively across a broad spectrum of community health services, including drug and alcohol support, indigenous health, and sexual health clinics. His dedication to medicine has also taken him overseas for elective work in Zambia and Egypt. Notably, Dr Choong was one of the pioneering volunteer doctors who helped establish a vital post-exposure prophylaxis programme in Victoria, and he continues to prescribe preventative treatments.

Dr Choong graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1996, where he was awarded the Baldwin Spencer Prize for Medical Biology and was short-listed for the Jamieson Prize for Clinical Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, Dr Choong is a member of the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM) and regularly collaborates with major hospitals on clinical care and research projects.
