Dr William Cranwell

Dr William Cranwell is a highly qualified Consultant Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care across medical, surgical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. Known for his meticulous and reassuring approach, Dr Cranwell is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring that each individual receives a tailored treatment plan designed to address their unique skin concerns.

Dr Cranwell graduated with Honours from a leading Australian university with dual degrees in Medicine and Biomedical Science, where he was awarded the Harry Hindlip Green Prize in Medicine. He also holds a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He completed his specialist dermatology training at major tertiary referral hospitals in Melbourne. During his specialist training, he was awarded the Founders' Medal for achieving the highest overall score in Australia in the procedural fellowship examinations. He also received the Adrian Johnson Memorial Prize for his research on alopecia areata. He was the recipient of a prestigious research fellowship to undertake advanced training at a world-renowned dermatology institute in London, where he worked alongside global experts in complex eczema, psoriasis, and paediatric dermatology. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and a Board Member of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic and Procedural Dermatologists.

In his clinical practice, Dr Cranwell focuses on a wide range of dermatological conditions affecting both adults and children. His areas of expertise include the management of acne, acne scarring, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, melasma, and hair and scalp disorders such as alopecia. He is highly skilled in skin cancer detection and treatment, performing comprehensive skin checks and surgical procedures. Additionally, Dr Cranwell has advanced training in laser and energy-based therapies, personally performing procedures for skin rejuvenation, redness, pigmentation, and scar revision.
