Dr Vinod Aiyappan

Dr Vinod Aiyappan is a highly qualified Respiratory and Sleep Physician who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of lung and sleep disorders. With extensive clinical experience gained across Australia, the United Kingdom, and India, Dr Aiyappan possesses deep expertise in all aspects of thoracic and sleep medicine. His clinical focus includes the management of complex sleep disorders, such as obstructive and central sleep apnoea, as well as severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and chronic cough. He is highly skilled in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including bronchoscopy and non-invasive ventilation for chronic ventilatory failure. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Aiyappan is actively involved in medical research and education, contributing to the advancement of respiratory medicine as a Senior Lecturer.

Dr Aiyappan completed his primary medical education, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Mahatma Gandhi University in 1998, followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD). He undertook advanced training in Respiratory Medicine and completed a dedicated year of specialised training in Sleep Medicine. In 2011, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP).
