Dr Vincent Chow

Dr Vincent Chow is a highly regarded Cardiologist and Staff Specialist who provides comprehensive care in general cardiology. He also serves as a Director of Coronary Care Unit, delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care with a particular focus on coronary heart disease, heart failure, and pre-operative cardiac risk assessment. Dr Chow has been instrumental in developing pioneering clinical services in psychiatric cardiology, which focuses on the specialised cardiac care of patients with psychiatric disorders. Additionally, he has a strong clinical interest in screening and managing cardiac side-effects in patients undergoing treatments with cardiotoxic drugs, such as chemotherapy and antipsychotic medications.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Chow is actively involved in medical education and research. He serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer, teaching and mentoring medical students and Junior Doctors. His research contributions are extensive, with numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals and presentations delivered at national and international academic conferences. His research has particularly focused on long-term cardiac dysfunction and inflammation in systemic diseases, as well as cardiac function and biomarkers in various drug and disease states.

Dr Chow graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales, obtaining his Bachelor of Science (Medicine) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. He completed his specialist training in cardiology and an echocardiography fellowship in 2010. He later earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Sydney in 2014, supported by an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship. Dr Chow is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ). He also holds Level B accreditation for reporting CT coronary angiograms.
