Dr Vijith Vijayasekaran

Mr Vijith Vijayasekaran is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon based in Western Australia whose practice spans aesthetic, reconstructive and paediatric plastic surgery. His clinical work includes facial, breast and body surgery as well as reconstructive procedures for cleft lip and palate, hand conditions, burns and scarring, skin cancer and trauma. At Perth Children’s Hospital, he is Head of Department and undertakes cleft lip and palate and related surgery.

After completing his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 1995, Mr Vijayasekaran entered advanced training in plastic and reconstructive surgery and was awarded FRACS in 2005. He then spent a further two and a half years undertaking post-fellowship training in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Melbourne and Toronto, and later became the first surgeon in Australia to complete the Advanced Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship awarded by the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

His career also includes humanitarian medical work: he provided emergency medical assistance following the 2002 Bali bombings and was subsequently appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for this contribution.
