Dr Vanessa Ann Collins

Dr Vanessa Ann Collins is a dedicated and highly compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to individuals and families. With a patient-centred approach, she is committed to delivering high-quality medical care that supports the long-term health and well-being of her patients. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of general medicine, with a particular focus on supporting patients through all stages of life.

Throughout her career, Dr Collins has developed key areas of clinical interest, particularly in women's health, paediatrics, and counselling. She is highly experienced in providing shared antenatal care in collaboration with local hospitals, ensuring expectant mothers receive supportive and continuous care during pregnancy. Her expertise also extends to paediatric care, where she addresses the unique health and developmental needs of children, as well as offering empathetic counselling to support her patients' mental and emotional health.

Dr Collins graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1981, achieving Honours and receiving prestigious prizes in Occupational Health and Community Medicine. Following her graduation, she completed extensive postgraduate training, including several years at a local hospital and a dedicated period at a major paediatric hospital. She has obtained her Family Planning Association Certificate and her Family Medicine Programme Certificate. In addition to her clinical work, Dr Collins has been actively involved in medical education, having shared a university clinical school's teaching award for excellence in community medicine instruction for medical students.
