Dr Timothy Shortus

Dr Timothy Shortus is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, whole-person care to individuals and families. He strongly believes in the value of continuity of care, ensuring that his patients receive consistent and personalised support throughout their health journeys. Dr Shortus enjoys all aspects of general practice, fostering a welcoming and reassuring environment where patients feel heard and supported.

Dr Shortus completed his medical training at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with first-class honours. Demonstrating a deep commitment to advancing healthcare, he also holds a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Shortus is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer with the Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity at the University of New South Wales, where he is actively involved in general practice education and research.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Shortus provides expert care across various stages of life. His areas of focus include chronic disease management, geriatric health, and mental health care. He is also highly experienced in child and family health, childhood immunisations, women's health, and antenatal shared care. By combining his extensive academic background with a patient-centred approach, Dr Shortus ensures that every individual receives evidence-based, holistic medical care tailored to their unique needs.
