Dr Timothy Chew

Dr Timothy Chew is a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care to patients across various age groups. With a clinical focus that spans from children and adolescents to adults, Dr Chew is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care. He adopts a holistic and reassuring approach, working collaboratively with individuals and their families to understand their unique circumstances and support them on their journey towards mental well-being.

Specialising in child, adolescent, and youth psychiatry, Dr Chew has a particular interest in transcultural psychiatry, which allows him to support individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. His clinical expertise encompasses a wide range of mental health conditions, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and depression. To address these complex needs, he utilises a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as individual and parent psychotherapy, family-based therapy, mentalisation-based therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and supportive psychotherapy.

Dr Chew completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Dundee in Scotland, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He subsequently undertook specialist training in general psychiatry, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry, completing his training in 2014. He holds a Master of Psychological Medicine and a Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr Chew is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
