Dr Thomas Worland

Dr Thomas Worland is an experienced Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a particular focus on chronic liver disease. He obtained his bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees at Deakin University in 2011. He subsequently completed specialist training through Monash and Austin health, and then underwent further advanced training in liver transplantation at the Austin Hospital. Dr Worland attends ward service and clinics, performing gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and transient elastography. He is highly skilled in the management of all gastroenterology issues, including coeliac disease, iron deficiency, reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Dr Worland is passionate about the monitoring and preventative management of cirrhotic complications and has a special interest in liver-related diseases such as fatty liver disease and viral hepatitis. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr Worland maintains an active research interest and has published widely in his field. He is happy to be contacted directly for advice and sees all patients within two weeks for initial consultation or FibroScan. Dr Worland is committed to providing exceptional care to his patients and strives to ensure they receive the best possible treatment according to their needs. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
