Dr Thomas O'Rourke is a highly qualified General Surgeon and Laparoscopic Surgeon who provides comprehensive surgical care. He specialises in minimally invasive procedures, with a strong focus on delivering optimal patient outcomes through advanced surgical techniques. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of general surgical conditions, ensuring that patients receive personalised and reassuring care throughout their treatment journey.

With a dedicated focus on complex abdominal procedures, Dr O'Rourke has particular expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, as well as surgical oncology. His clinical interests include minimally invasive hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, and liver and pancreatic surgeries. Additionally, he is highly trained in liver transplantation and advanced laparoscopic interventions, utilising state-of-the-art techniques to minimise recovery times and enhance patient comfort.

Dr O'Rourke completed his medical education at the University of Queensland, where he earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and a Bachelor of Medical Science, qualifying in 1998. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. To further refine his expertise, he completed prestigious international post-fellowship training in hepatobiliary surgery and surgical oncology at renowned medical centres in the United Kingdom. Dr O'Rourke is an active member of the professional medical community, serving as a Board Member of the Australian and New Zealand Hepato Pancreatico Biliary Association. He also serves as an Acting Director of Hepatobiliary Surgery and a Consultant Liver Transplant Surgeon, and contributes to the education of future medical professionals as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery.
