Dr Tess Higgins

Dr Tess Higgins is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. She has a strong focus on preventative medicine and wellness, aiming to build long-term, supportive relationships with her patients. Her approach to healthcare is highly personalised, ensuring that each individual receives tailored medical advice and treatment to safeguard their long-term health and wellbeing.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Higgins specialises in child and maternity health, as well as women's health. She is highly skilled in performing various minor clinical procedures, including wound repair, skin excisions, and the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants. Additionally, she maintains a keen interest in managing COVID-19 and Long COVID, staying up to date with international developments to provide evidence-based care for patients navigating these complex conditions.

Dr Higgins completed her medical studies at the University of Queensland and undertook extensive clinical training at several major metropolitan hospitals. She achieved her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2018. Committed to continuous professional development, she also completed a Master of Medical Science in Medical Management at a leading medical university in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2019. Her diverse background includes working within rural and indigenous communities, as well as serving as a Medical Officer and Trainer for first aid services.
