Dr Tanushree Rao

Dr Tanushree Rao is a well experienced Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist currently seeing private patients at Sydney South West Private Hospital and Southern Highlands Private Hospital. She also has public appointments at Liverpool Hospital and Bowral Hospital. She completed her medical degree at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India in 2008. Dr Rao is also a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2021.

Dr Rao has developed a particular interest in minimally invasive and advanced robotic / laparoscopic procedures. She is an AGES-certified laparoscopic surgeon having undergone training in the prestigious Advanced Gynaecology Endoscopic Surgery (AGES) program in Sydney. This specialised training has provided her with advanced expertise in procedures such as total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic myomectomies, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomies, vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic floor repairs. Dr Rao also has specialist expertise in the treatment of endometriosis.
