Dr Sumana Gopinath

Dr Sumana Gopinath is a highly qualified Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for a wide range of neurological conditions. With a deep commitment to improving patient outcomes, she specialises in general neurology, with a particular focus on neurogenetics and the management of complex brain and nerve disorders. Dr Gopinath is dedicated to delivering reassuring, evidence-based care, ensuring that each patient receives a personalised treatment plan tailored to their unique health needs.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Gopinath is actively involved in medical education and research. She holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor of Neurology, where she contributes to the training of medical students, Junior Doctors, Physician Trainees, and future Neurology Specialists. Her research endeavours are highly regarded, particularly her work in neurogenetics. She completed a PhD focusing on familial neuropathies and motor neurone diseases, investigating the genetic causes of disorders that affect motor neurones.
