Dr Stuart McMaster

Dr Stuart McMaster is a highly dedicated and versatile General Practitioner who brings a wealth of expertise to his patients. While providing comprehensive care across all aspects of general medicine, he has developed a strong clinical focus on skin cancer medicine and phlebology. Dr McMaster is particularly passionate about offering advanced, minimally invasive treatments for venous conditions, helping patients achieve both therapeutic relief and excellent aesthetic outcomes. His patient-centred approach ensures that individuals receive personalised care tailored to their unique health needs.

Dr McMaster completed his medical education at the University of Otago Medical School, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1987. He went on to obtain his Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 1991, followed by his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Committed to continuous professional development, he also earned a Graduate Certificate in Health Science from the University of Sydney and an International Diploma in Dermoscopy with distinction from the University of Graz. Dr McMaster is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology, where he has previously served as the Chief Censor and currently holds the position of Director of Training. He has also contributed to the medical community as an Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

In his clinical practice, Dr McMaster manages a diverse range of medical concerns, from routine general health assessments to complex emergency and rural medicine cases. He is highly skilled in performing thorough skin cancer checks, diagnostic biopsies, and minor surgical procedures. In the field of phlebology, he offers state-of-the-art, non-surgical treatments for varicose veins, spider veins, and other lower limb venous issues, utilising advanced techniques such as laser therapy, sclerotherapy, and medical tissue glue.
