Prof. Steven Chadban

Prof. Steven Chadban is a highly distinguished Clinician-Scientist and Nephrologist specialising in General (Internal) Medicine, with a particular focus on renal medicine and kidney transplantation. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals living with kidney diseases, helping them navigate complex treatment pathways with empathy and expertise. His clinical work focuses on improving long-term outcomes for patients, particularly those undergoing kidney transplants or managing chronic kidney conditions.

Prof. Chadban completed his Bachelor of Medicine with Honours at the University of Newcastle in 1990, where he was awarded the prestigious University Medal in Medicine. He subsequently completed his specialist training as a Physician and Nephrologist, and went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Monash University. To further his expertise, he completed post-doctoral research in immunology at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (FAHMS). Additionally, he is a past President of the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand.

As an active researcher and leader in his field, Prof. Chadban is deeply involved in clinical trials and epidemiological studies aimed at enhancing patient care.
