Dr Stacey O'Shea

Dr Stacey O'Shea is a highly dedicated and compassionate Consultant Nephrologist who provides comprehensive care in renal medicine. Based in Auchenflower, Australia, she is committed to delivering patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of kidney-related conditions. Dr O'Shea focuses on building strong collaborative relationships with General Practitioners and other medical Specialists to ensure her patients receive seamless, holistic, and supportive treatment throughout their healthcare journey.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr O'Shea specialises in the management of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and renal replacement therapy. Her areas of expertise also encompass cardio-renal pathophysiology, kidney stones, and immune-mediated kidney disease. Additionally, she has a strong interest in complex conditions such as dysproteinaemias, disorders of complement regulation, and atypical haemolytic uraemic syndrome. Dr O'Shea is highly skilled in managing anaemia associated with kidney disease, utilising advanced iron and erythropoietin therapies to optimise patient outcomes.

Dr O'Shea completed her Bachelor of Medical Science in 1999 before earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland in 2003, graduating as Valedictorian with First Class Honours. She undertook her advanced training in Brisbane, gaining intensive exposure to renal transplantation and complex kidney disorders. Dr O'Shea was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2013. Throughout her career, she has been deeply involved in medical education, serving as the Australian Advanced Trainee representative for the Special Advisory Committee in Nephrology and organising statewide educational programmes for consultants and registrars.
