Dr Sonja Blainey

Dr Sonja Blainey is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare. With a strong focus on preventative medicine, she is committed to building lasting relationships with her patients to support their physical and mental well-being. Her holistic approach ensures that individuals and families receive personalised care tailored to their unique health journeys.

In her clinical practice, Dr Blainey has developed a diverse range of special interests. She is highly skilled in women's health, offering services such as antenatal shared care, cervical screening, and sexual and reproductive health consultations. She is also qualified to provide long-acting reversible contraception, including the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices (IUDs). Additionally, Dr Blainey is passionate about preventative child and family care, childhood immunisations, travel medicine, aged care, and the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes.

Dr Blainey completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales in 2002. To further her expertise in paediatric care, she also obtained a Diploma in Child Health. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), reflecting her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of general practice medicine.
