Dr Sonia Shah

Dr Sonia Shah is a dedicated and highly skilled Consultant Paediatrician who provides comprehensive, compassionate medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. With a reassuring and family-centred approach, Dr Shah is committed to helping families achieve the best possible health outcomes for their children. She believes in the power of collaborative care, working closely alongside General Practitioners, allied health professionals, and schools to support each child's unique developmental and medical journey.

Dr Shah completed her medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom, where she also commenced her specialist paediatric training. After relocating to Australia, she continued her advanced training across several major tertiary paediatric and women's hospitals, as well as regional healthcare facilities in Queensland. She qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2014. Dr Shah is an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and contributes to the medical community through teaching medical and nursing staff, as well as serving on a hospital paediatric service committee.

In her clinical practice, Dr Shah manages a broad spectrum of general paediatric conditions. She has a particular interest in neonatal care, supporting families through infant feeding and early developmental milestones. Her clinical expertise also extends to managing respiratory issues, endocrine and puberty concerns, and supporting children who experience developmental and learning difficulties. Through her thorough assessments and evidence-based treatments, Dr Shah provides a supportive environment where parents and children feel heard and cared for.
