Dr. Smitha Sarpamalay

Dr. Smitha brings over 17 years of diverse medical experience, initially specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) after completing her undergraduate and postgraduate training in India. In 2014, she relocated to Australia, where she furthered her career by transitioning into General Practice (GP). Dr. Smitha achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2022.

Her professional interests include chronic disease management, mental health support, preventative health strategies, and minor skin procedures. Dr. Smitha's approach is characterised by compassion, warmth, and a down-to-earth demeanour, which resonate in her interactions with patients of all ages, genders, and abilities.

With a keen interest in Women's Health, Dr. Smitha offers comprehensive services including antenatal care, reproductive health guidance, sexual and adolescent health consultations, and management of menopause. She is skilled in various contraceptive methods, including intrauterine device (IUD) and Implanon insertions.

Dr. Smitha's additional qualifications include a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Australia and New Zealand, as well as a Diploma in Child Health from the Sydney Children's Hospital Network. 

In her role as a GP, Dr. Smitha continues to integrate her extensive background in O&G with the broader scope of general practice, ensuring that her patients receive personalised, evidence-based care that meets their unique health needs and goals.
