Dr Sinjini Biswas

Dr Sinjini Biswas is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist, Interventional Cardiologist, and Structural Cardiologist based in Melbourne, Australia. She specialises in the assessment and management of coronary artery disease, chest pain, and structural heart conditions. Known for her compassionate, personalised, and holistic approach to patient care, Dr Biswas is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular treatments tailored to the unique needs of each individual. She is also one of only a small number of female Interventional Cardiologists in Australia, bringing a vital perspective to the field.

Dr Biswas obtained her medical degree from a leading university in Melbourne in 2009. She completed her basic physician training and specialist cardiology training at a major tertiary hospital in Melbourne, obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017. She was subsequently awarded prestigious scholarships from the National Heart Foundation and the National Health and Medical Research Council to complete a PhD focusing on optimising systems of care for coronary intervention. To further her expertise, she undertook advanced subspecialty fellowships in complex coronary intervention and transcatheter aortic valve implantation at renowned healthcare institutions in both Australia and the United Kingdom, where she also worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the European Society of Cardiology.

In her clinical practice, Dr Biswas focuses on performing complex, high-risk coronary interventions with precision, utilising advanced intracoronary imaging and physiology. Her areas of expertise include the minimally invasive treatment of aortic stenosis through transcatheter aortic valve implantation, as well as the management of coronary microvascular dysfunction and vasospasm. Beyond her clinical work, she is a dedicated researcher who has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and regularly serves as invited faculty at major international cardiology conferences. She is also passionate about medical education, actively supervising and mentoring junior medical staff and medical students.
