About Mr Simon Moten

Mr Moten earned his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 1991 before undertaking basic surgical training and cardiothoracic specialty training. In 2004, he gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and went on to complete a Fellowship at East Carolina University in the United States, focusing on minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery under the renowned mitral valve and robotic surgeon, Dr. Randolph Chitwood III.
Mr Moten is a recognised expert in the insertion of sutureless aortic valves and an advocate of minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery procedures.
Mr Moten is a member of a number of professional organisations including the Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons, the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, and the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Simon was very easy to relate to and he gave me a very good understanding of the procedure and any subsequent issues. His bedside manner was outstanding.
Simon was extremely professional with a great bedside manner. Despite my surgery being routine for him, he recognised that it may well be challenging for us, giving reassurance. He was happy to answer any questions we had, both before and after surgery. Following the surgery, even the theatre nursing staff commented on his kindness.
I found Simon explained things clearly in a way that was understandable. His bed side was unusually good and relaxed which is unusual for Doctors. I enjoyed his humour
gave all information required and great follow up after operation.

Mr Moten gave a detailed explanation of both the diagnosis and the required operation. Explanation was free of technical jargon allowing me to gain to very good understanding of my issue and treatment. Dr Moten was "down to earth" and easy to talk to. Mr Moten took the time to ensure I was fully aware of what was in front of me regarding recovery time and restrictions due to such invasive surgery

Over all very satisfied the way everything was handle.
