Dr Simon Clarke

Dr Simon Clarke is a highly respected Developmental Paediatrician and Children's Doctor who specialises in the assessment and management of developmental, behavioural, and emotional challenges in children, adolescents, and young people. With a compassionate and reassuring approach, Dr Clarke is dedicated to supporting families through complex developmental journeys. His clinical focus encompasses a wide range of areas, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning difficulties, eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, and gender dysphoria. He is also a trained Family Therapist, integrating family-based therapy and counselling to provide holistic, patient-centred care.

Dr Clarke obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and has built an extensive academic and clinical foundation. He completed advanced research in ADHD and learning difficulties in children and adolescents at Harvard University. During his academic tenure, his dedication to the field was recognised with the prestigious Young Investigator Award for his research into adolescent learning difficulties. Dr Clarke holds several distinguished professional memberships, including being a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), a Fellow of the College of Paediatricians (FCP), a Fellow of the Australasian College of Psychological Medicine (FACPM), and a Fellow of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (FSAHM).

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Clarke has made significant contributions to paediatric and adolescent medicine. He established a pioneering learning difficulties and ADHD clinic, leading a multidisciplinary team of Psychologists and Speech Therapists to support young patients. He also founded a dedicated adolescent unit, which became a recognised centre of excellence for managing adolescents, particularly those experiencing eating disorders. Furthermore, Dr Clarke co-founded a prominent research centre focused on adolescent health, an initiative that has secured numerous grants and produced over 80 academic papers and book chapters. He also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor, contributing to the education of future medical professionals.
