Dr Shui-Jean Yap

Dr Shui-Jean Yap is a highly dedicated Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist who provides holistic, compassionate, and empathetic care to women at all stages of life. Originally from Malaysia, Dr Yap deeply values the roles of culture and respect in her medical practice, striving to deliver comprehensive and tailored care to every patient. She is passionate about empowering women to make informed decisions about their health, ensuring they feel heard, supported, and relaxed during their consultations.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Yap specialises in both obstetrics and gynaecology. Her clinical focus includes office gynaecology, colposcopy, and operative laparoscopy. She is also highly skilled in performing hysteroscopy and open surgery, as well as managing complex bladder and urogynaecological issues. Dr Yap is committed to providing the highest standard of surgical and medical care, utilising minimally invasive techniques where appropriate to support optimal patient recovery and outcomes.

Dr Yap completed her medical education at the University of Western Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 2010. She subsequently undertook extensive specialist training across multiple metropolitan and rural centres in Western Australia, as well as working at regional sites in New South Wales and Victoria. In addition to her medical degree, she holds a Master of Clinical Medicine in Leadership and Management. Dr Yap is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
