Dr Shelley Bourne

Dr Shelley Bourne is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a diverse clinical background spanning both metropolitan and remote Australian settings, she has developed a broad range of expertise. Dr Bourne is committed to delivering high-quality medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on building strong, supportive relationships to help individuals manage their long-term health and well-being.

Her clinical practice encompasses a wide array of medical fields, with a particular focus on skin cancer management, women's health, and paediatric care. Dr Bourne is highly skilled in dermoscopy for the early detection of skin cancers and performs both simple and complex skin cancer surgeries, including flaps, grafts, and wedge excisions. Additionally, she provides comprehensive antenatal care, sexual health and family planning services, and is qualified as an ADHD Prescriber in conjunction with a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist. Her experience also extends to rural emergency care and trauma management.

Dr Bourne obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Committed to continuous professional development, she has earned a Diploma in Children's Health (DCH) and a National Certificate in Family Planning and Sexual Health from Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia (SHFPA). She is also an accredited member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA), having completed advanced certifications in skin cancer surgery and dermoscopy, alongside further training with the Australian College of Cutaneous Oncology and the University of Queensland.
