Dr Sharon Brodtman

Dr Sharon Brodtman is a highly qualified and compassionate Psychiatrist who specialises in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as General Psychiatry. With a patient-centred approach, she provides comprehensive psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and families, helping them navigate complex mental health challenges. Dr Brodtman is dedicated to fostering a supportive and reassuring environment, ensuring that each patient receives personalised treatment tailored to their unique developmental and emotional needs.

In her clinical practice, Dr Brodtman focuses on a wide range of mental health conditions. Her areas of expertise include the assessment and management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. She also has a deep interest in treating complex trauma, depression, and functional neurological disorder. Utilising evidence-based therapeutic modalities, she is skilled in delivering Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and family therapy. Dr Brodtman is highly experienced in working with diverse populations, including gender-diverse, gay, and lesbian individuals, ensuring inclusive and respectful care for all.

Dr Brodtman completed her medical education at the University of Melbourne, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1976. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Demonstrating her commitment to specialised care, she holds a Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a Certificate in EMDR therapy. Additionally, she is an accredited member of both the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Faculty of Psychotherapy.
