Dr Shapla Mahmud

Dr Shapla Mahmud is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare. Dr Mahmud is committed to delivering high-quality primary care, ensuring that each patient receives personalised attention tailored to their unique health needs.

Throughout her career, Dr Mahmud has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. She is highly skilled in women's health, offering essential services such as antenatal and postnatal care, cervical screening, breast examinations, and family planning. Her expertise also extends to children's health, where she provides routine check-ups and childhood immunisations. Additionally, Dr Mahmud is experienced in chronic disease management, mental health support, aged care, and Aboriginal health. Her practical skills include performing minor surgical procedures, such as skin cancer checks, lipoma removals, and treating ingrown toenails, as well as conducting pre-employment and commercial driving licence medical assessments.

Dr Mahmud obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kumudini Women's Medical College in Bangladesh, qualifying in 2006. To further her training and adapt her skills to diverse communities, she completed her pathway as a General Practice Registrar, gaining valuable experience in rural and indigenous healthcare settings.
