Dr Shannon Previte

Dr Shannon Previte is a dedicated Specialist General Practitioner who is committed to supporting patients of all ages and backgrounds to achieve their personal health goals. She practises evidence-based medicine with a compassionate and empathetic approach, appreciating the privileged role a General Practitioner has in the lives of patients and their families. Dr Previte enjoys the dynamic nature of General Practice, welcoming the opportunity to guide individuals through the various stages and challenges of life.

With a broad interest in all aspects of General Practice, Dr Previte provides comprehensive care across several key areas. Her clinical focus includes women's health, where she offers services such as preconception care, antenatal shared care, menstrual management, perimenopause support, and contraceptive procedures including the insertion and removal of hormonal implants and intrauterine devices. She is also highly focused on paediatric health, managing baby checks, childhood vaccinations, acute illnesses, and neurodevelopmental care. Additionally, she encourages preventative health and screening for men, alongside managing chronic diseases, mental health, and performing minor surgical procedures.

Dr Previte completed her initial academic pursuits with a Bachelor of Psychology from James Cook University, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Wollongong. She completed her specialist General Practice training in 2020, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Committed to continuous professional development, she also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Child Health from Western Sydney University in 2024. Her dedication to clinical excellence has been recognised with professional accolades, including being named Senior Registrar of the Year in 2019 and Doctor of the Year in 2021 by her professional network.
