Dr Shamila Beattie

Dr Shamila Beattie is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to individuals and families at all stages of life. Known for her calm, reassuring, and thoughtful approach, she is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based medicine that is tailored to each patient's unique needs. Dr Beattie adopts a holistic approach to healthcare, working closely with her patients to support both their physical and emotional well-being, and is highly regarded for her ability to manage complex and long-term health conditions with clarity and empathy.

Dr Beattie completed her medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2004. Following her graduation, she undertook extensive hospital training in London, where she attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). She subsequently chose to specialise as a General Practitioner, gaining broad experience in both paediatrics and emergency medicine while achieving Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in the United Kingdom. Additionally, she holds a Diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Throughout her career, Dr Beattie has developed a diverse range of clinical interests, including complex chronic disease management, skin cancer medicine, mental health care, women's health, and weight management. She is also an accredited ADHD medication prescriber for patients aged 12 and over who have an established diagnosis. Drawing on personal insight, she offers empathetic and practical support to families navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Committed to medical education, she also works as a Visiting Medical Officer and enjoys teaching medical students, reflecting her ongoing dedication to professional development.
