Dr Shabnam Cook

Dr Shabnam Cook is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care to the Wollongong community. With a broad clinical background spanning emergency medicine and general practice, she is committed to delivering holistic healthcare that addresses the unique needs of every individual. Dr Cook is passionate about preventive medicine and works collaboratively with her patients to support their long-term health and well-being.

Dr Cook graduated with her medical degree from the University of Sydney in 2005. Following her graduation, she completed her internship and residency within the Illawarra region, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in diverse clinical settings. She initially undertook specialist training in Emergency Medicine before transitioning to General Practice in 2010. In addition to her primary medical qualifications, Dr Cook holds a Master's Degree in public health and has contributed to the training of future medical professionals as a GP Medical Educator since 2016.

In her daily practice, Dr Cook enjoys all facets of family medicine, with particular clinical interests in Paediatrics, Women's Health, Sexual Health, and Mental Health. Her extensive background in emergency care equips her to manage acute presentations with confidence and reassurance. She also offers specialised expertise in podiatry foot care and is highly proficient in performing a wide range of minor surgical procedures, ensuring her patients receive thorough and versatile care.
