Dr Sevvandi Premachandra

Dr Sevvandi Premachandra is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a strong focus on holistic health, she is committed to supporting patients through all stages of life. Her reassuring approach and clinical expertise ensure that individuals and families receive high-quality medical guidance tailored to their unique needs.

Before transitioning to general practice, Dr Premachandra gained extensive clinical experience working in demanding hospital environments. She served as an emergency department Resident and later as a Registrar, where she managed acute medical cases. Her diverse medical background also includes valuable experience in anaesthetics and intensive care, equipping her with robust skills in acute care and crisis management.

Dr Premachandra completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in 2002. Following her graduation, she relocated to Australia to complete her internship and subsequently undertook her specialist general practice training. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. To further enhance her clinical capabilities, she has completed advanced courses in adult and paediatric life support, as well as sexual and reproductive health.

In her daily practice, Dr Premachandra focuses on a wide range of family medicine. She has a particular interest in women's health, sexual and reproductive health, and preventative medicine. Her thorough training allows her to deliver evidence-based care, helping patients manage chronic conditions, navigate reproductive health choices, and maintain long-term wellness.
