Dr Sarat Chander

Associate Professor Sarat Chander is a highly regarded Consultant Radiation Oncologist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care. He specialises in the treatment of urological cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, and sarcomas. With a focus on delivering precise and effective treatments, Dr Chander is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through advanced therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual's unique diagnosis.

Dr Chander is widely recognised for his technical proficiency in complex radiation therapies. His clinical interests and expertise include prostate brachytherapy, as well as stereotactic radiotherapy for the liver, spine, and bone metastases. He is actively involved in clinical research and trials, contributing to the development of innovative treatment protocols such as partially ablative body radiation therapy for locally advanced, unresectable tumours.

Dr Chander completed his medical training, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR). Alongside his clinical practice, he holds academic appointments as an Associate Professor, where he contributes to the education and training of future Radiation Oncologists, ensuring the highest standards of cancer care are maintained.
