Dr Sarah Matenson

Dr Sarah Matenson is a General Practitioner with extensive experience in women’s health and general medicine, and a long-standing focus on maternity and family care.

She graduated from Monash University in 1996 with an MBBS (Hons), later completing a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2001 and achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2002.

Dr Matenson is highly experienced across all areas of general practice, with a particular passion for women’s health and wellbeing. Her clinical interests include family planning, pregnancy shared care, postnatal care, and broader reproductive health services. She is accredited in shared maternity care across multiple hospitals including Monash, Box Hill, Royal Women’s, Sunshine, Mercy, Northern, and Sandringham Hospitals, supporting continuity of care throughout pregnancy and childbirth.

She has also worked as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Masada Early Parenting Centre (sleep school) since 2016, contributing to postnatal and early parenting support services.

Her approach to care is patient-centred and continuity-focused, with an emphasis on supporting women and families through pregnancy, early parenthood, and long-term reproductive health.
