Dr Sarah Glastras

Dr Sarah Glastras is a highly accomplished Consultant Endocrinologist and Senior Staff Specialist who provides comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients experiencing a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders. With a clinical approach that is both holistic and reassuring, she is dedicated to empowering her patients to manage their health effectively. Her clinical practice encompasses all aspects of endocrinology, with a particular focus on diabetes management, obesity, and women's endocrine health.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Glastras is a prominent Clinician-Researcher and Associate Professor who actively contributes to the advancement of medical science. Her extensive research focuses on the prevention and early intervention of diabetes and obesity, particularly exploring the impact of maternal health and foetal programming on long-term chronic disease risk. She is actively involved in clinical trials investigating innovative treatments and new technologies for diabetes management, ensuring her patients benefit from the latest evidence-based medical advancements.

Dr Glastras completed her medical training, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. Prior to her medical studies, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honours, which provides her with unique insight into the psychosocial aspects of managing chronic illnesses. She later completed her Doctor of Philosophy in 2016, focusing on the role of maternal obesity in predisposing offspring to chronic kidney disease. Dr Glastras is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and maintains active involvement in leading clinical advisory groups and research initiatives.
